He is the younger brother of rapper Project Pat and a founding member of the 1991-formed Three 6 Mafia, a Southern hip-hop group.
In the hitherto East and West Coast-dominated rap industry, Juicy J and his production partner DJ Paul significantly contributed to the South’s ascent to popularity. Behind the duo’s direction, Three 6 Mafia developed into a well-known rap empire and, in the mid- to late ’90s, produced a number of solo albums for the group’s numerous members.
